Upcoming Pinning Ceremony in San Antonio

The next Vietnam War Commemoration Welcome Home and Presentation of Lapel Pins is scheduled to be held in San Antonio, Texas, on 19-21 October 2023. Here is an excerpt of comments by the FTVA President, Ted Colquhoun, printed in the June 2023 edition of the Remain in Touch Newsletter:

"You may have noticed an additional event on 21 Oct 23. That event will happen during the banquet where we will recognize all our Vietnam War Veterans. This year is the 50th anniversary of the end of hostilities for the US Armed Forces (Paris Peace Accords – Jan 1973) and it would be fitting to recognize our fellow Airmen who spent many days and nights keeping watch and enabling our combined operations in and around Vietnam.
Our POCs for the recognition ceremony will be Mr. Tom Nurre from the Heritage Chapter (San Angelo, TX) and Mr. Bill Brockmiller, FTVA Vice-President and Alamo Chapter member. You should see some additional documents in the Remain-In-Touch giving you guidance on how to sign up for the ceremony and we will also post the information on the website. If you can’t make the banquet, we will have an earlier ceremony that Friday, 20 Oct 23.
Finally, thank you! Thank you for supporting our men and women in all the services, but especially those in 16 AF. Sleep well at night, these Airmen are good, and they are keeping our nation safe.
Thanks for your support, friendship, and prayers, and more importantly thanks for maintaining contact with each other and ensuring what we do best…Remaining in Touch. Until next time...Ted Colquhoun"

Presentations will be made at the EC-47 ARDF display on Kelly AFB Security Hill on 20 October and at the annual FTVA reunion banquet on the evening of 21 October.
