Continuing the Mission: Honoring Vietnam and Persian Gulf War Veterans
Following the successful completion of the United States of America’s 50th Commemoration of the Vietnam War congressional mandate on November 30, 2025, the Heritage Chapter - Freedom Through Vigilance Association remains steadfast in its commitment to honor those who served. While the federal commemoration has concluded, our gratitude has not. We are proud to announce the development of exclusive Heritage Chapter lapel pins and certificates to continue recognizing Vietnam War veterans and surviving spouses, in accordance with the previously established eligibility period of November 1, 1955, through May 15, 1975.
In addition to maintaining our tribute to Vietnam veterans, the Heritage Chapter is expanding its recognition program to honor the service and sacrifice of Persian Gulf War veterans. We are now accepting registrations to present commemorative lapel pins and certificates to veterans and surviving spouses of veterans who served during the Gulf War, from August 2, 1990, through November 30, 1995.
The next organized lapel pin presentations honoring veterans from both wars are scheduled as part of the 5th Annual Vietnam Veterans Day Ceremony, to be held on Friday, March 27, 2026, at 1100 am on Goodfellow Air Force Base, at the Weyandt-Eddy Memorial Plaza, adjacent to the Norma Brown building 430, 351 Kearney Blvd.
